Bacchanale by Jules Dalou, 1895-98. The only information I can find on this sculpture by French artist Dalou is that it is based on the worshipping of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, (Dionysus in Greek). The scene to me looks quite violent and forceful; if anyone has any background information, I’d love to hear it!
