Self Portrait by Antonio Canova, 1792. Venetian artist Antonio Canova created one of my all-time favourite sculptures, Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss from 1787. It is perhaps unusual that he would show himself painting or planning a future piece in his self portrait, rather than in the process of sculpting.
