Pandora by Alexandre Cabanel, 1873. Cabanel shows the curiosity of Pandora just before she opens her box and accidentally unleashes all of the evils into the world, leaving only hope inside. The story of Pandora’s box is from Hesiod’s ‘Works and Days’ poem.
