John Currin (1962-) is an American artist living and working in New York City.
Currin’s work focuses primarily on the composition of the human form, and is often physically and erotically charged. You can also see how the artist is clearly influenced by the paintings of the Old Masters, particularly the Mannerists (see Thanksgiving, and then take a look at Parmigianino’s Madonna dal Collo Lungo.
